in:finiteNothing is what it seems in our new wonderous creation where choreography, music and visual art become a visually striking performance space.
Step through the looking glass into a kaleidoscope wonderland, a world of mirrors where a drop of water can become a torrentuous sea, a grain of sand turn into the vastness of the universe, and a microscopic organism, tiny like a cell, can become the savior of a whole world. Within the depths of the theatre a journey awaits, following the dancers' paths among magical constructions, inticing reflections and sculptural landscapes. In the various ecosystems of the performance, inspired by the vastness of the natural world and the current state of our planet, we balance on the verge between light and darkness, the vibrant and the void. An immersive performance navigating a state of 'everything is ok - everything is not ok'. 'in:finte' is the first commission by choreographer Wubkje Kuindersma for Skånes Dansteater, Nicholas Thayer is the evening's composer, Martin Chocholousek is creating the striking set design, and Jessica Helbach, who designed the imaginative costume and props for our performance 'Out of the Blue', is designing the costumes'. Together this team of artists are creating a multilayered hybrid form of art, a performance open to every and all associations and interpretations beautifully challenging our perceptions of our surroundings. 'in:finite' is performed for only 50 persons per performance. Seating is unnumbered. The performance begins with a standing part, aprroximately 20 mins and continues with a seated part in another area of the performance space. SKANES DANSTEATER |
